uddkREVIEW OF UDUAK DANIEL'S "ON TOP" BY REV. BASSEY BASSEY DANIEL

Most people have failed in life from the wrong mental attitude than from lack. Wade Boggs said that "positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes". According to him, It is the catalyst that sparks extra ordinary results. Uduak Daniel must have been ruminating on these as she made attempt to explore the divine commands in Deuteronomy 28:13 and Mark 11:22-24.
"On Top"  is a four minute traditional orchestration. What calls the attention is not the beautiful tapestry of sounds forming the foundation, but the menacing attitude of the singer: "Get out of the way!" Suddenly, you get the impression that the heavy velvety voice is already encountering trouble. The suspense is in the fact that you are not given the antecedent to this trouble. You are now poised to hear what started this.

That is when she brakes into explaining the accolades of trouble that someone may encounter. She deftly weaves a metaphor of natural images of what we can overcome. Then she declares with a heaven sent finality. "I'm on top". It is at this point the eternal chorus join in the great celebration of praise
The rhythm elicits dance of unparalleled proportion from the beginning to the end. The lyrics will generate a resolute attitude to win. Just as it started, it gradually fades into the background with the taste lingering in your mouth... "I'm fired up!"
Bon appetite!
